JoinBrands review

JoinBrands suits new UGC creators in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, or Germany who want a steady list of small paid jobs. Brands set the rate, with video defaults of $60 to $150 and a $50 floor, and JoinBrands keeps 20%. Skip it if you dislike fronting product costs or need payment outside PayPal.

Ranked 12 of 16 on our platform list. Checked October 21, 2026 by the Paid Brand Deals editorial team. JoinBrands did not pay for this review, and nothing here is sponsored.

Best for. Beginner UGC creators in the five supported countries who want many small jobs and a clear level system to climb.

Not for. Creators outside the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany, or anyone unwilling to buy products upfront on reimbursement jobs.

What works

  • Published rate defaults and floors for every job type
  • Brand money sits in escrow before you start
  • Tips, express jobs, and reimbursements carry no fee
  • Clear level rules, with Level 2 after 5 rated jobs

What doesn't

  • 20% platform fee on the free plan
  • PayPal is the only payout method
  • Reimbursement jobs make you buy the product first, often with shipping and tax
  • Level bonuses only apply when a brand targets that level

How does JoinBrands work for creators?

JoinBrands is a marketplace where brands post paid content jobs and creators apply to them. A job can be a UGC video or photo you hand to the brand, or a post on your own TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or Amazon storefront. Every listing shows the payout before you apply.

Jobs come in three delivery types. On reimbursement jobs, you buy the product yourself within 48 hours, and JoinBrands refunds the price once the job is complete. On shipped-by-brand jobs, the brand sends the product and covers shipping and tax. Digital product jobs cover apps and websites. Your first job must be a reimbursement or digital product job, and shipped-by-brand jobs open after that.

Brands can ask for edits, buy extra photos or videos from the same job at a discount, and tip you through the platform. Level 1 creators can also take unlimited "Free Product + $5" jobs. Those are product deals with a token fee, not paid brand deals.

Who can join JoinBrands?

JoinBrands accepts adult creators based in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany. Each country has its own marketplace and currency. JoinBrands warns that accounts created from other countries get flagged and may not receive payouts.

UGC jobs have no follower requirement. You build a profile with a clear face photo, a short bio, and up to 3 content categories, and an automated check reviews it, with JoinBrands support as backup. Posting jobs need a certification. TikTok jobs require a connected account with at least 50 active posts, and Instagram Reel jobs require a professional account with at least 50 Reels.

Everyone starts at Level 1, which allows 5 regular jobs at a time. Level 2 needs 5 completed video, social, or live jobs with an average rating of 4.0 or higher. Level 3 needs 30 such jobs and a 4.3 average. Image-only jobs do not count, and levels can drop because ratings are measured over a rolling 12 months.

How much do JoinBrands deals pay, and what does JoinBrands take?

JoinBrands video jobs in the US pay $50 to $150 before fees, set by the brand, and JoinBrands keeps 20% on the free plan. Brands start from a default rate and can go no lower than a floor. These are the US figures from JoinBrands' earnings article, before fees:

Job type Default Floor
TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, or Amazon video $100 $50
Full-length YouTube video $150 $50
UGC video, such as an unboxing or demo $60 $50
Lifestyle or product-only image $25 $25
Selfie-with-product image $15 $15

Higher-level campaigns pay more on UGC and image jobs. A Level 2 campaign adds 50% to a basic UGC video, and a Level 3 campaign adds 100%. The catch is that the brand must target that level. If a Level 3 creator takes a Level 1 campaign, the job pays the Level 1 rate. Social posting jobs pay the same at every level.

JoinBrands keeps 20% of regular job earnings and performance bonuses, taken before the money reaches your wallet. A $60 UGC video nets $48. Creator Pro costs $49.95 a month or $494.99 a year and drops the fee to 15%. That saves 5% of your gross, so Pro only covers its cost once you earn about $1,000 a month in jobs. Express job earnings, tips, and reimbursements carry no fee.

How and when does JoinBrands pay?

JoinBrands collects the brand's money upfront and holds it in escrow until the brand approves your work. After approval, the money moves to your JoinBrands wallet, and you withdraw it from there.

PayPal is the only payout method. The country, state, and city on your PayPal account must match your JoinBrands profile, and one PayPal account can link to only one JoinBrands account. Payouts can take up to 7 business days. Free-plan creators can withdraw once a week, and Creator Pro removes that limit.

Reimbursement jobs add risk. You pay for the product, and usually the shipping and tax, then wait for the job to finish to get the product price back. If the brand cancels after you buy, JoinBrands puts the reimbursement on hold and its support team decides how it is settled. If you cancel after receiving the product, you are not reimbursed.

What rights do brands get to your JoinBrands content?

JoinBrands brands get full ownership of content once they buy it. The help center says you need the brand's permission even to share that content on your own social media. Price your UGC with that in mind, because the brand can run it in ads without paying you again.

Posting jobs add ad permissions. You submit the content for approval, post it on your account, and may be asked for a TikTok Spark Ads code or an Instagram partnership ad code. JoinBrands' Spark Ads guide tells creators to pick the 365-day authorization, which lets the brand run your post as an ad for a year. The guide to usage rights and whitelisting explains how these permissions work.

Is JoinBrands worth it?

JoinBrands is worth it for beginners who want volume and a visible path to higher-paying jobs. The rate floors are public, money sits in escrow, and Level 2 is reachable after 5 rated jobs. That beats pitching brands cold with no portfolio.

The costs add up on small jobs, though. A 20% fee, PayPal-only withdrawals, and buying products upfront make a $50 job thinner than it looks. Creators in the US, UK, or Canada who want a flat payout with no fee should compare Billo, which pays Regular creators $30 to $75 per video and takes no cut. Creators with an engaged audience who want posting fees should try Collabstr.

JoinBrands keeps 20% of regular job earnings and performance bonuses on the free plan. Creator Pro, at $49.95 a month or $494.99 a year, cuts the fee to 15%. Express job earnings, tips, and product reimbursements carry no JoinBrands fee.

How much do JoinBrands jobs pay?

Brands set the rate within JoinBrands' floors. In the US, a basic UGC video defaults to $60, a TikTok or Instagram post to $100, and a full-length YouTube video to $150, with a $50 floor on all three. Image jobs pay $15 to $25.

How do you get paid on JoinBrands?

Approved earnings move from escrow to your JoinBrands wallet, and you withdraw them to PayPal. PayPal is the only option, and payouts can take up to 7 business days. Free-plan creators can withdraw once a week.
