Instagram creator marketplace review
Instagram's creator marketplace is worth joining if you have a professional account, since it is free and brands everywhere can now search it. Meta does not hold payment or set rates, and the product is built to feed partnership ads. Skip relying on it if you need guaranteed pay, and charge for every partnership ad code as paid usage.
Ranked 11 of 16 on our platform list. Checked October 20, 2026 by the Paid Brand Deals editorial team. Instagram creator marketplace did not pay for this review, and nothing here is sponsored.
Best for. Instagram creators with a creator or business account who want brands to message them with a rate already attached.
Not for. Creators who need a platform to hold payment, and creators who post mainly on another network.
What works
- Free to join from the professional dashboard.
- Brand messages land in a separate Partnership messages folder.
- Brands in any country can search the marketplace since January 2026.
- Only one advertiser can boost a piece of your content at a time.
What doesn't
- Meta describes no escrow or payment system, so you collect from the brand.
- A partnership ad code gives a brand 180 days of boosting.
- Turning off an ad code does not stop ads already running.
- Creator eligibility rules sit inside the app and are hard to check in advance.
How does Instagram creator marketplace work for creators?
Instagram creator marketplace is Meta's built-in directory where brands search for creators, send paid opportunities, and turn creator posts into ads. Creators join from the professional dashboard in the Instagram app, list the brands and topics they care about, and build a portfolio. Meta's 2024 announcement says brand messages arrive in a Partnership messages folder at the top of your Primary inbox tab. Each opportunity shows the details, the requirements, and the rate.
Meta's recommendations favor creators who signal interest. Meta said in January 2026 that brands now see content from creators who tag or mention them, plus recommendations for creators who have said they want to partner with that brand, and a "similar creators" search based on past partners. Tagging brands you already use in organic posts is the simplest way to show up.
The product sits inside a renamed hub in 2026. Meta said at Cannes Lions in June 2026 that creator marketplace and Partnership Ads Hub would merge into a single "Meta Creator Marketing Hub," and Meta's old creator marketplace page now redirects there. MediaPost reported the hub's launch in September 2026, with in-hub messaging and content permissions that carry expiration dates.
For brands, the hub is an ad product. Meta's own page pitches it as a way to find creator content that is ready to scale as partnership ads. Expect many requests to involve running your post as a paid ad.
Who can join Instagram creator marketplace?
Instagram creator marketplace is for creator and business accounts, and eligible creators join from the professional dashboard. Instagram's help center says creators must meet its eligibility requirements, but that page loads only in a full browser and could not be read in full for this review. Meta's public announcements do not list a follower minimum.
Meta opened brand access worldwide on January 30, 2026, up from 19 countries. That post covers brands, not creators. Check your professional dashboard to see whether the option appears for you.
Meta said in June 2026 that the marketplace already lists more than 5 million Instagram creators and would add Facebook creators. A big pool helps brands. For you, it means more competition for each brief.
How much do Instagram creator marketplace deals pay?
Instagram creator marketplace deals pay whatever rate the brand offers and you accept, because Meta does not set prices. The rate appears with the opportunity, so you see the number before you reply. Meta lists no creator fee for joining or for receiving offers.
Brands want ad rights because Meta tells them partnership ads work. Meta says adding partnership ads to standard campaigns delivered 19% lower cost per acquisition and 13% higher click-through rates, on average. Those are Meta's own figures, but they explain why so many briefs ask for an ad code.
Check each offer against the rate calculator. If the brand also wants partnership ad rights, ask for a separate usage fee. A post that runs as a paid ad for months is worth more than an organic post. See the guide to brand deal rates before you quote.
How and when do you get paid?
Instagram creator marketplace has no payment system described in Meta's announcements, so the brand pays you on the terms you agree. Meta explains how brands find creators, message them, and run partnership ads, but none of its pages reviewed here describe escrow, invoicing, or payout. Get the fee and the payment date in writing before you post.
That gap is the main risk. TikTok One holds the money until the brand confirms your video. On Instagram, nothing in Meta's system stops a brand from boosting your post and paying late. The guides to brand deal contracts and getting paid cover deposits, invoices, and late fees.
What rights do brands get to your content?
Instagram brands get ad rights to your content only when you grant them, through a partnership ad code or an account-level permission. You generate a code from the post's menu under "Partnership label & ads." Instagram's help center says the code lets a partner boost that content for 180 days, and only one advertiser can boost a piece of content at a time. Turning the code off stops new ads but not ads already running.
Meta also offers account-level permissions through the Creator Marketing Hub. These let a brand run partnership ads on your content without asking for each post, once you accept the request in the Instagram or Facebook app. Do not grant account-level access for a one-post deal. Limit permission to the posts and dates in your contract, and charge for the ad window. The guide to usage rights and whitelisting has contract language.
Live video is now ad inventory too. MediaPost reported that from September 29, 2026, brands can run a creator's Instagram live video as a partnership ad. If a brand books you for a live, agree in writing whether it can be boosted and for how long.
Is Instagram creator marketplace worth it?
Instagram creator marketplace is worth joining if you already post on Instagram with a professional account, because it costs nothing and brands come to you with a rate attached. Fill in your interests and portfolio so Meta's recommendations can surface you, and reply to brands you would work with anyway.
Do not treat it as a protected marketplace. Meta describes no escrow, and the product exists to supply partnership ads, so brands often want ad rights as much as a post. Creators who want a platform to hold payment should compare Collabstr and Insense, which both collect the brand's money before you start. If your income comes mostly from product links, LTK is the better fit.
