YouTube Creator Partnerships review
YouTube Creator Partnerships, formerly BrandConnect, is worth turning on if you are already in the YouTube Partner Program, because brands find you inside YouTube Studio at no cost. You cannot apply for most deals, and YouTube does not hold payment. Skip it as a plan if you are not yet in the Partner Program or live outside its 24 countries.
Ranked 14 of 16 on our platform list. Checked October 20, 2026 by the Paid Brand Deals editorial team. YouTube Creator Partnerships did not pay for this review, and nothing here is sponsored.
Best for. YouTube Partner Program creators in a supported country who want inbound sponsorship inquiries without paying an agency.
Not for. Channels not yet in the YouTube Partner Program, and creators who want to apply for deals instead of waiting to be found.

- Open Call pays nothing if the brand does not pick your video.
How does YouTube Creator Partnerships work for creators?
YouTube Creator Partnerships is YouTube's own tool for matching brands with channels, and it is the product that used to be called BrandConnect. YouTube announced the new name on March 23, 2026, and said brands now find creators inside Google Ads and Display & Video 360 while creators handle deals in YouTube Studio. Tubefilter notes that BrandConnect grew out of YouTube's 2016 purchase of FameBit.
The flow is inbound. Brands search the more than 3 million creators in the YouTube Partner Program, with Google's Gemini model suggesting matches, and send inquiries. You see them in a Creator Partnerships tab under Earn in YouTube Studio, with a notification on mobile and web. Brands can also reach you by email or through your social handles.
Each inquiry shows an "Earn" figure. YouTube says that amount comes from the advertiser and is not a final offer. You answer "Interested" or "Not interested."
You can add a business contact email so a manager or agent receives inquiries too. YouTube's March 2026 post said advertisers would soon be able to send one inquiry to several creators at once, and that a section for brand deal links would help both sides track collaborations. If you would rather not hear from brands, the help page lists an email address for opting out.
YouTube recommends opting in to channel insights sharing. Its March 2026 blog post said creators who shared insights were surfaced 60% more in search results, on average. You stay discoverable without it.
Who can join YouTube Creator Partnerships?
YouTube Creator Partnerships is open to YouTube Partner Program channels whose owners are 18 or older, live in a supported country, and have no active Community Guidelines strikes. Your channel must also follow YouTube's monetization policies, Terms of Service, and Community Guidelines. There is no separate sign-up. If you qualify, the tab appears.
The YouTube Partner Program is the real gate. YouTube's program page lists 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million Shorts views in the last 90 days. YouTube also runs a lower Partner Program tier from 500 subscribers for fan-funding features, and it does not say whether that tier qualifies for Creator Partnerships. Plan on the 1,000-subscriber bar.
The US help page lists 24 countries and regions: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Open Call has tighter rules. You must be in the US, UK, or India, have 1,000 to 500,000 subscribers, hold an active AdSense account, and have posted a Short in the last 30 days. Participation is by invitation only.
How much do YouTube Creator Partnerships deals pay?
YouTube Creator Partnerships deals pay whatever you and the brand agree, because YouTube does not set rates or sit between you and the brand's money. The "Earn" amount in an inquiry is the advertiser's estimate. Treat it as an opening number, check it against the rate calculator, and counter if it is low. The guide to brand deal rates explains how to build a counteroffer.
Open Call works differently. A brand posts a brief, you submit one vertical Short, and you are paid only if the brand selects it. YouTube says pricing "is based on subscriber count and market rates." Videos with AI-generated visuals may be rejected automatically, and you cannot mention competitor brands or use unauthorized music.
How and when do you get paid?
On a standard YouTube Creator Partnerships deal, the brand pays you directly, on the terms in the contract you sign with it. YouTube's help page says to "work with the advertiser or agency directly" on contract and payment terms, and suggests you consult a legal professional. Your payment date is whatever you negotiate. Use the brand deal contract checklist and the guide to invoicing brands before you sign.
Open Call pays through YouTube. If a brand picks your Short, payment goes to your AdSense account within 60 days.
What rights do brands get to your content?
YouTube brands that want to run your video as an ad need you to link the video to them. YouTube's help page lists three ways to share brand partner access: pick a reported brand deal during upload, search for the brand during upload, or generate a code and send it to the brand. After upload, a brand can also request to associate its Google Ads account with the video.
YouTube calls the paid version "creator partnerships boost," formerly partnership ads. It turns creator videos into Shorts and in-stream ads. The Creator Partnerships help page does not state a time limit for boosts on standard deals, so write one into your contract and price it as usage. See usage rights and whitelisting.
Open Call is specific. Once a brand chooses your submission, YouTube says the advertiser gets a 6-month license to use it in ads.
Is YouTube Creator Partnerships worth it?
YouTube Creator Partnerships is worth turning on if you are already in the YouTube Partner Program in one of the 24 countries, because it costs nothing and brings brand inquiries to you. Opt in to channel insights sharing so you show up more often. Then keep pitching on your own, because YouTube gives most creators no way to apply for campaigns. The guide to pitching brands has templates.
Skip it as a deal source if your channel is not yet in the Partner Program or is outside the supported countries. Look at sponsorship platforms such as Passionfroot and Agentio instead. When an inquiry does arrive, handle it like any direct deal: a written contract, a defined ad window, and a payment date before you film.
How it scores

- YouTube says brand inquiries arrive "periodically," and the only way to submit work yourself, Open Call, is invite-only.
- Access 20% of score

- Fees and payout 20% of score
- YouTube lists no fee and Open Call pays to AdSense within 60 days, but standard deals pay on whatever terms the brand's contract sets.
- Creator protection 10% of score
- YouTube tells creators to negotiate and sign agreements directly with brands and to consider a lawyer, so it does not hold funds on standard deals.
YouTube Creator Partnerships questions
Is YouTube BrandConnect still available?
YouTube BrandConnect now runs as YouTube Creator Partnerships. YouTube announced the new name on March 23, 2026, and folded its partnership tools into one product inside YouTube Studio, Google Ads, and Display & Video 360. Eligible creators see a Creator Partnerships tab under Earn in YouTube Studio.
Can I apply to YouTube Creator Partnerships?
YouTube Creator Partnerships has no application form. If your channel meets the requirements, the Creator Partnerships tab appears in YouTube Studio and brands can find you. Open Call, where you submit a video to a brand brief, is invite-only.
How many subscribers do you need for YouTube brand deals?
YouTube Creator Partnerships requires YouTube Partner Program membership. YouTube's program page lists 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 public watch hours in 12 months or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days. Open Call adds a range of 1,000 to 500,000 subscribers and is limited to the US, UK, and India.
Does YouTube pay you for brand deals?
The brand pays you on standard Creator Partnerships deals, not YouTube. YouTube's help page says you negotiate and sign an agreement with the brand and are paid by the brand. Open Call is the exception, paying to your AdSense account within 60 days if the brand selects your video.
